The original show ran for seven seasons spanning the late 90s and early 2000s, and by far the funniest character was Salem, Sabrina’s magical talking black cat. Salem is not only a fan-favorite and current internet meme, but he also is the only character, besides Sabrina herself, to appear in every single episode.

Black cats have lower adoption rates from shelters year-round and due to their ties with superstition and satanic cults, many black cats will be harmed or killed during Halloween and the month surrounding it. If you are looking to adopt a cat, consider adopting a black one and, if you do own a black cat, be sure to keep it indoors especially during the Halloween season.
