Good question! That depends on the number of cats that you have, but even with one cat it is best to run the CatGenie on cat activation, or at least twice a day. This’ll ensure that the unit stays clean and prevents excessive waste build-up. My CatGenie is on cat activation- that way its squeaky clean every time I use it!

Where do I put this little green ball?
Hey there! This is a quick fix. Simply drop the ball back behind the Genie hand. It will fall down inside the hopper, and you’re good to go. If you accidentally lose the piece be sure to call customer support at (888-735-3927) to order a replacement. Which reminds me…I think I’m going to go pay the CatGenie a visit. I’ve been keeping myself a little too !

My Cat Genie power cord does not reach the outlet in the bathroom I would like to use it in. Is it safe to use an extension cord?
Hello there! It is best to plug the CatGenie directly into an outlet, but if you have to use an extension cord, please make sure it has a surge protector on it. I broke the gray hair cutter ring when I was cleaning my unit and I am going out of town today. Will the unit still work without it?
Oh no! We understand that accidents happen- if the hair-cutter ring is broken, be sure to remove all of the broken pieces. Your CatGenie will run fine without it until you can order a new one, but be sure to replace it ASAP. I hope this helps!

Hello! The cleaning cycle lasts 37 minutes, about as long as one of the 15 cat naps I take per day! In fact, I’m feeling awfully sleepy… time for nap number 7!
