Halloween Treats Your Cat Will Love

It’s officially spooky season, and you know what that means; it’s time to empty your entire savings account on Halloween paraphernalia. Or, as I like to call it, buying every All Hallow’s Eve-themed piece of home decor that I can get my grubby little hands on, with the intention of keeping it up all year-round. I’m talking everything from spooky skeleton dish towels to spiderwebbed goblets with which to drink the blood of mine enemies. Or chocolate milk. Of course, most of it is cat-themed, since we all know that our black kitties are the real stars of the season.

But anyway, I digress. Of course, it’s always fun to splurge on holiday treats for yourself, but what about your cats? Surely there is something you can throw in your shopping cart that will fill them with that sweet haunted holiday spirit?

Pumpkin Spice Forever

Ugh, pumpkin spice. Is there anything better? Call it “basic” all you want, but nothing says fall like a good pumpkin spice flavored… well, anything! And as it turns out, pumpkin is really good for cats! Unfortunately, that’s pumpkin MINUS the “spice”, but you get the idea.

There are a lot of great pumpkin-based treats out there for your furry friends at home. One of my babies’ favorites is Pumpkin Jack Splash from Weruva. Just slather this tasty goodness on your kitty’s usual dinner feast for a delicious (and festive!) surprise.

Or, if you don’t have time to run to the pet store, straight-up pumpkin in a can will do ya just fine. Just make sure it’s all organic and unsweetened. Going pumpkin pickin’ anytime soon? Pumpkin seeds make another yummy treat for dogs and cats! In fact, pumpkin and pumpkin seeds aren’t just delectable – they’re healthy too! Feeding your cats pumpkin can help manage their digestive health, and can even help your kitty shed some pounds if he’s a bit on the chunky side. Oh great pumpkin, is there anything you can’t do?

Mummy Mixups

Speaking of festive treats, another cute idea to help your kitty celebrate this Halloween is filling a little carved-out mini pumpkin with some Mummy Mixups from Temptations. Grab one of those cute little baby pumpkins from your local farmer’s market, scoop out the “pumpkin guts”, and fill it up with these scrumptious yummies to be presented to her highness, Pawdry Hepburn, for her Halloween treat. Make sure you get some pictures for Pinterest so that other cat moms can get inspired!

Hauntingly Cute Cat Toys

Wanna surprise your baby with something more than just a tasty treat? How does a personalized cat toy sound? Yes, that’s right! Purrsonalized! Yes yes, I’ll see myself out now. But in all seriousness, who wouldn’t want a cute little Halloween kitty toy in the shape of a sweet, friendly ghost? Complete with his or her name on it, no less? Oh, and to really make the night extra fun, it’s got catnip in it. NOW it’s a party.

Fearsome Fashionistas

Want to let your kitty join in on the fun of dressing up for Halloween? Put him in a festive collar! He’ll be sure to feel included in the celebration with some spooky new bling around his neck. Wanna really go the extra mile and make sure you know where your little pumpkin is at all times? Turn it up a notch and get a collar with a jingly pumpkin-shaped bell! Your kitty will be the belle of the ball! (Badump-ch! I’ll be here all night ladies and gentlemen!)

Haunted House

Really wanna make this Halloween one to remember for your cat? Top it all off with her very own haunted house. That’s right, your cat can have a super spooky space all to herself this year! Between the pumpkin treats and all the catnip your baby can handle, why not give her a place to crash after the Halloween madness starts to settle? After all the trick-or-treating has ended, put on some Hocus Pocus or a good Goosebumps episode and let yourself be lulled into a sugar coma while your baby gets to haunt her very own house. Because, as we know, after everything is all said and done, every kitty’s favorite thing to do is take a little cat nap in peace.
